Barley porridge is a healthy, tasty and nutritious dish that can be served on its own or as a side dish. A great treat for a family lunch or dinner.

  1. Prepare all ingredients. Soak the pearl barley in cold water for 12 hours. It will be more convenient to do this at night.
  2. Transfer the cereal to a saucepan, salt and cover with water. Put on medium heat and cook after boiling until tender (about 60-90 minutes).
  3. Meanwhile, chop the onions, carrots and garlic. Cutting can be any, cut as you like.
  4. Fry vegetables in a skillet, stirring occasionally until soft.
  5. Add ready-made washed cereals to them.
  6. Add a lump of butter and add any fresh herbs. Add salt to taste if necessary.
  7. Stir and heat everything together for about 5 minutes. Barley with carrots and onions is ready.
  8. Enjoy your meal!
