  1. Preheat oven to 170 C.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate in the microwave (about 90 seconds), then stir and wait until cool slightly. As an alternative to the microwave, gently heat the chocolate and butter in a steam bath (heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of boiling water). Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use a mixer to beat the eggs until foamy, then add the sweetener and beat again.
  4. Add melted chocolate, butter, almond flour.
  5. Stir with a spoon or spatula until smooth.
  6. Line the base of a 20 cm baking dish with parchment paper and oil the edges of the dish.
  7. Pour the chocolate batter into a mold.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes on the middle rack, until the center of the cake is firm to the touch.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before removing from the baking dish. Once the cake has cooled, remove it from the pan and sprinkle with cocoa powder for garnish.
