The classic American burger for US residents is not just food, but a part of life, culture, if you like! And although according to one version of the birth of this dish, the author was an emigrant from Hamburg, this does not negate the fact that it was invented in the New World. And then it went on! In 1904, at a fair in St. Louis, burgers were "tasted" and they began to gain popularity. And 30 years later, when Walter Anderson founded the White Castle Hamburger chain in Kansas, the dish could be safely called a gastronomic symbol of America. Nowadays, the classic American burger is cooked all over the world. But to be sure of quality, it is better to try to reproduce this sandwich at home, in your own kitchen. Our recipe will help you!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make minced meat for classic American burgers. Peel and chop the onion very finely. Melt the butter in a skillet, add the onion and simmer over low heat for 5-7 minutes. Cool it down.
  2. Cut off all films from the beef pulp. Rotate the meat through a coarse grinder. Then crank up the fat. Add onion to meat and fat, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly.
  3. Divide the burger mince into 6 equal parts and use wet hands to mold 6 2.5 cm thick patties. Place on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. For classic American burgers, slice the onion into thin slices, the tomato and cucumbers into thin slices. Cut the buns in half and brush the cut with butter. Place all the ingredients you need on the table.
  5. Light the coals in the grill or barbecue - they should burn through well and be covered with gray ash. Heat the wire rack, grease. Place the burgers and fry, turning every 2 minutes, until the desired consistency is desired. Then fry the buns on the coals from the side of the cut - literally for 10 seconds, otherwise they will burn!
  6. Classic American burgers are usually assembled like this: put a leaf of lettuce on the bottom of the bun, then the burger, onions, tomatoes and cucumbers. The top of the bun is greased with ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise. Close the burger just before eating.
