Croutons with Plums and Apricots

I found the recipe for these amazing croutons in the 1968 French Cuisine book and it's so simple that a kid can do it! And delicious so much that you can't stop! Just try it!

Ingredients

  1. Grease slices of bread on one side with butter, put 2-4 halves of pitted plums, with the core on top.
  2. Place the croutons on a baking sheet lined with parchment, cover with a second sheet of parchment on top. Put for 30 minutes in an oven well preheated to 190C on a medium level. The top sheet of paper can be removed 5 minutes before the end of cooking.
  3. The croutons will brown and crunch, and the plums will be surrounded by syrup. When serving, sprinkle with sugar crystals or powdered sugar, top with a scoop of ice cream! Enjoy your meal!
