Very tasty and simple, in a few minutes! Fried calamari in a pan with onions is very quick. The dish will help you out when guests unexpectedly come. The seafood is tender and soft, and the onion has a pleasant aroma and pleasant appearance.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. How to fry squid with onions? Prepare all the ingredients you need. Today I suggest you roast them in a grill pan. In it, they are obtained with a beautiful pattern, do not absorb a lot of oil and are much more convenient to cook. But if there is no such frying pan, you can perfectly do it all on a regular one with a non-stick coating.
  2. Peel the onions and cut them into quarters. Put everything in a bowl, salt and add a little vegetable oil. Stir gently to avoid breaking the structure of the quarters. You can use absolutely any onion and the more varieties you take, the more interesting the dish will look and the taste will turn out.
  3. I prefer to buy prepared squid carcasses, but even they need to be properly prepared before frying. I think many have come across the fact that when cooked, the carcass shrinks and becomes much smaller. To do this, you need to remove a thin film from the squid carcass, it is it that shrivels and jars the squid. It is freely picked up with nails and removed without damaging the carcass. Do the same from the inside, turning the squid inside out.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with lime juice. Then turn them right out again. I do not advise you to salt and pepper them from the face, after cooking they will look like dirty or with stuck fumes all over the surface.
  5. Pour vegetable oil into a grill pan and add one or two sprigs of thyme. It can be replaced with dry rosemary sprigs. Peel the garlic, cut and place between the grooves.
  6. Place a skillet over medium heat and heat the oil for 1-2 minutes. During this time, the oil will heat up and begin to acquire an aroma. Slide the thyme and garlic over the two sides of the skillet and add the squid. Press on top with the special grill lid. If not, use another clean, heavy skillet. It will press down on the carcasses and then they will acquire characteristic grill stripes.
  7. Remove the thyme sprigs and sauté each side for 3-4 minutes. Do not keep the squid in the pan for a very long time, this will make them "rubbery" and you cannot fix it.
  8. After removing the cooked squid from the grill pan, spread the prepared onion. Saute it over low heat for 5-7 minutes, turning once. If you wish, you can add other vegetables, I put young carrots and radishes. Add the sautéed vegetables to the squid and serve.
  9. Bon Appetit.
