Ingredients

Directions

  1. Required ingredients for cooking shrimp. Properly cooked seafood has a rich taste and mouth-watering aroma. The smell and color are significantly influenced by the amount of salt and spices with which the product is cooked. You can, of course, boil without additives, but the taste will turn out to be rather bland; to enrich the taste, they use bay leaves, different varieties of peas, fresh and dried herbs, etc.
  2. Step 2. First of all, we put the pot of water on the fire (the ratio of shrimp to water is at least 1: 2), and in the meantime we get rid of the ice coat. It is very common for shrimp to be sent to the pot with it, but this is a common mistake. To do this very quickly, simply by rinsing them under warm water - this way we will get rid of ice, as well as excess dirt, broken antennae and legs
  3. Step 3. Seafood does not absorb salt well, so you need to put more of it, the recommended amount of salt per 1 liter of water is 40-45 g, for peeled shrimp the amount of salt should be halved
  4. Step 4. Add sprigs of parsley and dill to boiling water, you can also use dried herbs - the aroma will be slightly different
  5. Step 5. Add bay leaf - it will perfectly complement the flavor of the brine
  6. Step 6. Add other dry spices - allspice and black peppercorns, here they will be very useful. The set of spices is rather arbitrary, you can use the ones I suggested, or you can add, for example, asterisks, cloves, garlic, onions, a special set of spices for seafood, or other spices to taste
  7. Step 7. Add the prepared shrimp to the saucepan with the aromatic brine. The recommended cooking time for regular shrimp is 2-3 minutes after boiling. Tiger boils for 7 minutes, king prawns need 7-10 minutes
  8. Step 8. To make the shrimp easier to peel, rinse them under running cold water
  9. Step 9. Before serving, pour the shrimp with lemon juice and serve with or without your favorite sauce. Bon Appetit!
