Many people associate Japanese cuisine with sushi, rice and many incomprehensible sauces in small bowls. But, besides this, in Japanese cuisine there are many simple and accessible to our taste, understanding and preparation of dishes, especially from chicken and pork. Here, at least, these potato croquettes with minced pork.

  1. Boil potatoes in their skins. Peel it while still warm and mash it in a bowl with a fork or wooden crush.
  2. Chop the onion finely. Heat butter in a frying pan, put onions. As soon as it becomes transparent, put the minced meat, stir and fry a little. Season with salt, pepper and soy sauce. Combine cooked meat and potatoes. Let the mixture cool.
  3. Form balls from the potato-meat mixture with wet hands, and then flatten them a little. Dip the croquettes in flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs. Further, I deviated from the recipe a little, because the recipe involves deep-fried croquettes at 170 degrees. I was not attracted by such an abundance of fat, and I fried potato croquettes in a pan, like ordinary cutlets on both sides.
  4. For serving in small strips, chop the cabbage, shake it and pour 1 tbsp. spoon of soy sauce. Cut the tomato into slices.
  5. Place croquettes on a plate, cabbage and tomatoes. Serve separately the boiled rice, soy sauce and mustard. The recipe for potato croquettes from the book "Cooking at home in Japanese".
