  1. Soak the barley for a short while in hot water. Bring 2.5 cups of water to a boil, add salt and add washed pearl barley, reduce heat and cook until tender.
  2. Soak the raisins in hot water, chop the poppy with a coffee grinder.
  3. Pour the finished barley into a bowl.
  4. While the porridge is hot, add honey and sugar and stir to dissolve.
  5. Then add the rest of the ingredients - nuts, raisins and poppy seeds. Stir, garnish with fresh apple slices when serving.
