Soak the lentils overnight, grind them in a blender in the morning into a homogeneous gruel.
Boil rice.
Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan, add spices. After 10 seconds, put the carrots grated on a coarse grater and diced onions, fry for 10 minutes.
Mix lentils, rice, 1/2 tsp. salt and half fried carrots with onions. We form meatballs from the resulting mixture.
In the pan, where the second part of the carrots and onions remained, put the tomato paste, 1/2 tsp. salt, sugar and pour water. Let it boil. Cook the sauce for 5 minutes, then reduce the heat to low.
Now put the hedgehogs in the pan. The tops of the meatballs should not be covered with sauce. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Then open it and pour the sauce over the tops of the "hedgehogs" with a spoon. We do this carefully so as not to damage the meatballs, simmer for another 10 minutes. Open again and water the tops. We close the lid and simmer for the last 10 minutes. The total cooking time is 30 minutes.
