Meatballs baked with potatoes in the oven are not only tasty, but also convenient, since both meat balls and a side dish are prepared for them at the same time. In order for the potatoes to have time to bake, they must first be boiled and kneaded. Soaked in meat juices during baking, potatoes become very tasty, and meatballs under a layer of tomato sauce turn out juicy and look bright.

  1. Prepare the required ingredients. Any mince can be used, I have a mixture of pork and chicken.
  2. Rinse peeled potatoes and cut into large slices. Transfer the potatoes to a saucepan.
  3. Pour 800 ml of cold water over potatoes and bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. When the water boils, reduce heat to low. Pour 0.5 teaspoons of salt into a saucepan and cook the potatoes until tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. While the potatoes are boiling, let's start making meatballs. To do this, transfer the minced meat to a bowl.
  6. Peel the onion and mince it directly into the bowl of minced meat.
  7. Then add 0.5 teaspoons of salt, black pepper, dried dill and ground coriander to the minced meat.
  8. Add the breadcrumbs.
  9. Stir the minced meat by hand until smooth.
  10. Using your hands moistened with water, form 10 balls from the minced meat.
  11. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
  12. For the tomato sauce, combine the tomato paste, 1 pinch of salt and 1 pinch of black pepper in a bowl.
  13. Pour in 150 ml of boiled water and mix thoroughly.
  14. When the potatoes are boiled, drain the broth from the pan.
  15. Transfer the potatoes to a baking dish.
  16. Mash the potatoes with a fork.
  17. Place the meat balls on the prepared potatoes.
  18. Pour the meatballs with the tomato sauce.
  19. Bake meatballs with potatoes in a preheated oven for 35 minutes at 180 degrees.
  20. Meatballs baked with potatoes and tomato sauce are ready!
  21. Serve hot meatballs and potatoes.
