Well, it is not known for certain how a herring under a fur coat, seemingly, so unpretentious, artless, acquired the status of a festive one. However, the fact that in our time without this snack it is very difficult to imagine a festive, and especially a New Year's feast, is an indisputable fact!

  1. Prepare the original herring ingredients under a fur coat. Finely chop the fish fillet and peeled eggs. Grate all boiled root vegetables on a coarse grater. Peel the onion and chop finely.
  2. Place the chopped herring fillets in one layer at the bottom of the salad bowl. Spread the onions on top and pour over with vegetable oil. You can also drizzle with a little lemon juice.
  3. Layer the rest of the original herring ingredients under a fur coat in the following order: eggs, potatoes, carrots, beets. Coat each one with mayonnaise. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
