Pie with orange curd filling will definitely become the main dish on your New Year's table. It combines all the conditions of the New Year's recipe - excellent taste, beautiful view and a must-have attribute of the New Year - citrus aroma.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the oil from the refrigerator in advance, it should be quite soft. Whisk the butter and sugar into a light cream, then add the eggs and beat again.
  2. Sift flour, add to butter and egg mixture and quickly knead the dough. If the dough is too soft, add a little more flour. Do not knead the dough for long, otherwise it will become rough.
  3. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Put the oranges in a bowl and cover with boiling water, leave for 3 minutes, then drain the water. Repeat this operation 2 more times to remove the bitterness.
  5. Chop the oranges with the peel, remove the seeds and grind with a blender.
  6. Transfer to a saucepan, add 3-4 tbsp. l. sugar and put on fire. Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The filling should thicken a little. Cool it down.
  7. Mash cottage cheese with vanilla extract and sugar until smooth. Mix sour cream with an egg and 100 g of sugar.
  8. Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Roll out the dough and transfer to a baking dish (you will need a round one with a diameter of 30 cm or a rectangular one of the same size). Roll with a rolling pin on the sides, remove excess dough.
  9. Place the orange filling on the bottom of the dough and smooth, then add the curd.
  10. Pour the sour cream filling over the cake and sprinkle with grated orange zest.
  11. Place the pie in a preheated oven and bake for 40–45 minutes. Remove pie from oven and cool completely before serving.
