The Piglet casserole made from mashed potatoes and minced meat looks funny, appetizing and quite realistic, guests will be delighted! The dish itself is nutritious, satisfying, you have to tinker a little, but the result is worth it!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes, rinse, cut into slices and transfer to a saucepan. Pour potatoes with water, place on the stove. Bring water to a boil, add salt, reduce heat and cook until cooked.
  2. While the mashed potatoes are cooking, add the meat filling. To do this, peel the onion, cut into small cubes and fry until transparent in sunflower oil.
  3. Add minced meat to the skillet to the onion. (I used minced pork, you can use any minced meat or a mixture of several types of minced meat.)
  4. Fry the minced meat with onions until tender, stirring occasionally, season with salt and pepper to your liking. Remove the pan with the prepared minced meat from the stove, leave the minced meat to cool.
  5. When the potatoes are boiled, drain all the water from it, we will not need it.
  6. Mash potatoes in mashed potatoes, add egg white and flour.
  7. Stir the mashed potatoes until smooth and cool slightly.
  8. Put a sheet of foil on a baking sheet, grease the surface of the foil with sunflower oil. While molding the piglet from the puree, constantly wet your hands in water - this will make it easier to work. So, put the mashed potatoes on oiled foil, give it a rectangular or oval shape. A piece of potato dough, about 4 tbsp. spoons, leave.
  9. Place the minced meat in an oblong mound in the center of the potato tortilla.
  10. Now lift the edges of the potato tortilla and cover the minced meat with them. Let me remind you that your hands should be moistened with water, this is easier. On one side of the "piglet" we make a "patch", round off the opposite side.
  11. From the left potato dough we make a pig "ears", "hooves", "tail". Smooth the joints of the elements.
  12. A closer photo of the "muzzle".
  13. Lubricate the "piglet" with egg yolk, the protein of which went into mashed potatoes. We make "eyes" with a stick, insert allspice peas and "nostrils" into them.
  14. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the "piglet" of mashed potatoes and meat for about 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
  15. An elegant holiday dish in the shape of a pig is ready!
  16. Serve the prepared casserole of mashed potatoes and minced meat to the table hot.
  17. Bon Appetit!
