Potato cutlets

Delicious and tender potato cutlets with vegetable oil will delight vegetarians and those who are fasting.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut into 6-8 pieces, pour boiling water over, salt and cook for 15-20 minutes, until tender, over medium heat.
  2. Drain the water in which the potatoes were cooked, put the pan on the fire for a couple of seconds so that the remaining liquid evaporates.
  3. Add 1 tbsp. vegetable oil.
  4. Crush the potatoes with a potato grinder. (Do not use a blender for this, otherwise the mashed potatoes will become viscous and sticky.) Add salt if necessary. Let the puree cool.
  5. Form cutlets from mashed potatoes and bread them in flour on all sides.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry potato cutlets on both sides until golden brown.
