Potato gratin in creamy sauce

The French word gratin is a dish, for example made from potatoes, baked until golden brown. Potatoes are baked in the oven in a creamy sauce with garlic and cheese.

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices.
  2. Mix cream and milk and heat.
  3. Peel and chop the garlic.
  4. Add the prepared garlic to the cream.
  5. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Slice the Gruyere cheese.
  7. Grate Parmesan.
  8. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Gently line the potato slices in one layer (half of the whole potato).
  9. Drizzle with creamy sauce.
  10. Place the slices of Gruyere cheese.
  11. Sprinkle with thyme.
  12. Add another layer of potatoes. Drizzle over the remaining sauce.
  13. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and thyme.
  14. Preheat the oven. Bake potato gratin at 160 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  15. Sprinkle the potato gratin with breadcrumbs and garnish with parsley.
