Simple, very tasty, in a hurry, for every day! Rice in a frying pan is prepared from two ingredients - the cereal itself and the onion. The perfect side dish for any occasion. It is also good because you can diversify it to your liking - adding other vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, seasonings. Such a quick pilaf without meat!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare your ingredients. Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Use a sharp knife to finely chop the onion, soaking the knife in cold water to protect your eyes.
  2. Pour some vegetable oil into a hot skillet and add chopped onions. Fry the onions until golden brown. Stir occasionally to keep from burning. It is convenient to do this with a wooden spatula.
  3. While the onions are cooking, prepare the required amount of rice. Rinse it several times in cold water. Then drain all the water using a colander.
  4. When the onions are fried, add the washed rice to the onion. Stir and fry everything together for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add some salt and spice to the rice. You can add some turmeric to give the rice a nice yellow color. Mix everything well.
  6. Pour the required amount of hot water into the pan. Stir and bring to a boil. Then cover the skillet with a lid, turn heat to low and cook for about 10-15 minutes. We need the cereal to absorb the liquid.
  7. As soon as the water is absorbed into the rice, turn off the heat and leave the rice to stand under the lid for another 15 minutes. Then serve hot. This rice side dish goes well with many dishes! Enjoy your meal!
