Rice with spinach

  1. Rinse the rice. In a frying pan with oil, fry the cumin seeds a little, add the grated ginger root and after half a minute, rice. Fry the rice while stirring until it becomes transparent.
  2. Add spinach (if using fresh spinach, blanch in boiling water for 1 minute, squeeze and chop), pour in about 1 cup of hot water with salt and stir. The liquid should cover the grains. Do not cover the pan with a lid. Stir occasionally until almost all of the water is absorbed into the rice. Then pour in some of the water again and mix. And do this several times until the water runs out.
  3. After about 20 minutes (depending on the type of rice), the meal will be ready. Remove from heat and cover to keep the rice warm.
