The cooking time in the recipe header is indicated without taking into account the time required to marinate the shrimp.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Let's prepare all the ingredients. Defrost the shrimp, peel the garlic and ginger root.
  2. For this recipe, it is better to take fresh-frozen shrimp. Unfortunately, this time I had boiled-frozen.
  3. Remove the head and limbs from the shrimp. Slightly incise the shell along the back and remove the intestines (it is convenient to do this with a toothpick: we hook the intestines with a toothpick and take it out). Rinse the shrimp well in cold water and pat dry.
  4. Grate garlic and ginger root on a fine grater into a small deep bowl. Squeeze orange juice to them (it's not scary if a little orange pulp gets into the bowl).
  5. Add soy sauce and olive oil, salt to taste and spices to the orange-ginger-garlic mixture. Remember that soy sauce itself is salty.
  6. Mix thoroughly.
  7. Place the peeled shrimp in the marinade, mix well and leave to marinate for 30-60 minutes at room temperature. During this time, stir the shrimp several times for a more even pickling.
  8. Heat the pan well, add butter and olive oil.
  9. As soon as the butter disperses, quickly put the marinated shrimp in the pan, pour each shrimp a little with the liquid part of the marinade (about half a tablespoon), trying not to grab the garlic and ginger (they will burn), and fry the shrimp over high heat (on my electric plate 7 of 9) 1-1.5 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  10. Boiled-frozen shrimp, as in my case, one minute on each side is enough.
  11. Flip over and fry for another 1-1.5 minutes until browned on the other side. Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and serve immediately.
  12. Shrimps in ginger-garlic-orange marinade have an attractive aroma, appetizing appearance and an interesting bright taste. These shrimp are great as a hot appetizer or as a main dish with rice or vegetables, fresh or cooked.
  13. Bon appetit!
