Shrimp in a tomato-honey marinade - it's quick, easy and very tasty!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Let's prepare all the ingredients. Defrost the shrimp, peel the garlic.
  2. For this recipe, it is better to take fresh-frozen shrimp. Unfortunately, this time I had boiled-frozen.
  3. Remove the head and limbs from the shrimp. Slightly incise the shell along the back (this is convenient to do with kitchen scissors) and remove the intestines (this is convenient to do with a toothpick: pry off the intestines with a toothpick and take it out). Rinse the shrimp well in cold water and pat dry.
  4. Grate the garlic on a fine grater into a small deep bowl.
  5. Garlic can be passed through a press or ground with a pinch of salt to a paste. Choose the method that suits you best.
  6. Add honey, tomato paste, soy sauce and olive oil to chopped garlic.
  7. Add salt and spices.
  8. Stir the marinade until smooth.
  9. Place the peeled shrimp in the marinade, mix well and leave to marinate for 30-60 minutes at room temperature. During this time, stir the shrimp several times for a more even pickling.
  10. Heat the pan well, add butter and olive oil.
  11. As soon as the butter disperses, quickly put the marinated shrimp into the pan and fry them over high heat (on my electric stove 7 out of 9) 1-1.5 minutes on one side until a pleasant ruddy.
  12. Boiled-frozen shrimp, as in my case, is enough on each side for one minute or a little less.
  13. Flip over and fry for another 1-1.5 minutes until browned on the other side. Remove the cooked shrimp from the pan and serve immediately.
  14. Shrimp in a tomato honey marinade can be served as an appetizer or as a main course with rice or vegetable salad as a side dish. If desired, you can sprinkle the shrimp with sesame seeds: it keeps perfectly without shedding on the sticky glaze on top of the shrimp.
  15. Bon appetit!
