A simple black currant pie is so simple to make that you can make it every day! By the way, such pastries are ideal for family tea in the country. Light and crumbly dough harmoniously complements the expressive taste of berries with a pleasant exquisite sourness. And there's no need to talk about the aroma of the dish! A simple blackcurrant pie is best made, of course, with fresh berries, straight from the bush, but frozen ones are also fine. Moreover, there is no need to waste time on thawing: take them out of the freezer and use them according to the recipe.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the filling for a simple pie. Sort out the currants, wash with running water and dry well, spreading them out on a paper towel. Transfer to a saucepan.
  2. Add sugar and water to a container with black currants. Put on fire and, while stirring, bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 7 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  3. Make a simple pie dough. Cut the butter into cubes, put in a ladle and melt over low heat. Let cool. Line a 35x22 cm dish with baking paper.
  4. Combine the cooled butter with sugar, salt and yolks. Beat with a mixer until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Add the sifted flour and knead the dough for a simple pie.
  5. Put part of the pie dough into a baking dish and distribute with your hands so that you get a thin crust with small sides. Stick it with a fork. Place remaining dough in the freezer before use.
  6. Heat the oven to 165 ° C. Place a plain pie pan in it and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven. Increase heating to 175 ° C.
  7. Place the blackcurrant filling on the slightly cooled crust. Spread the dough chilled in the freezer into small pieces on top. Return the pie to the oven and bake for another 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
