Spicy Pecan Biscuits are an adaptation of the popular American Pecan Pie, which is commonly made on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Ground cloves, ginger and cinnamon add a special piquancy to this liver, which, in combination with a large amount of nuts, make the filling less cloying.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a water bath. Combine ground cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt with flour.
  2. Add the egg, sugar and molasses to the cooled butter. Beat with a whisk. Then add the flour mixture and mix until smooth.
  3. Cool the resulting dough piece in the refrigerator for 25 minutes. Then roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out circles with a diameter of 3.5 cm with a glass. Arrange the dough rounds in silicone molds, forming indentations in the center.
  4. Preparing the filling: Combine chopped pecans, cane sugar and maple syrup. With a teaspoon, spread the finished filling into shapes. Decorate with whole pecans on top. Bake at 180C.
