Squids in batter will be able to pleasantly surprise your guests with their taste and shape!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Would you like to surprise your guests by serving extraordinary food to the table? A mysterious appetizer that looks like one dish but is actually quite a different one? Then this recipe is for you. Because no one would ever think that squids are hiding inside small bagels.
  2. Gut the squid, clean it, remove the tentacles, if any, and carefully peel off the thin pink skin. Bring the salted water to a boil in a saucepan and put the peeled squid hoods into it. Boil the squid as usual, no longer than 3-5 minutes, so that they do not become rubbery. Drain the water, cool the squid and cut into rings no thicker than half a centimeter.
  3. Beat the whites with a mixer until firm foam. Mix flour with beer, salt and add vegetable oil. Then carefully add the whipped egg whites and mix everything. It is better if the batter is thicker with us, so that the rings take the shape of bagels. Heat the deep-frying oil in a deep frying pan or kettle until smoke appears. There should be a lot of oil for the rings to sink in it.
  4. Dip the squid in batter and fry on both sides until golden brown. We take out the finished rings and put them on a paper towel to remove excess fat.
  5. Serve as a beer snack.
