Stewed potatoes with onions, in sour cream

The recipe for a simple everyday dish is potatoes stewed in sour cream. Potatoes and onions are cooked without much difficulty, for a short time, and the recipe may well be on the list of your favorite potato dishes.

  1. Prepare the food you need. And for serving the finished dish, you can take fresh dill or any other greens.
  2. Peel and wash the potatoes.
  3. Cut the potatoes into medium sized pieces.
  4. Place the potatoes in a well-heated skillet with vegetable oil.
  5. Stirring occasionally, fry the potatoes over the heat for a little over medium 5-10 minutes, until they are well browned.
  6. Combine sour cream with water, stir until smooth.
  7. Peel and finely chop the onions. Add the onions to the skillet with the potatoes.
  8. Fry the potatoes and onions for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Pour the fried potatoes with onions with sour cream and water. Season with salt, pepper and stir.
  10. Sprinkle the potatoes with dry dill rubbed between your fingers on top.
  11. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer the potatoes in sour cream over low heat for about 30 minutes.
  12. The stew should be soft.
  13. Serve hot potatoes, sprinkle with chopped dill.
