Remove the skin from the grapefruit with a knife.
Over a large bowl, use a knife to cut the grapefruit into slices, separating the pulp from the membranes. Squeeze the juice from the membranes into a bowl. Set the grapefruit slices aside and leave only 3 tablespoons of juice in the bowl.
In a bowl of juice, add shallots, orange zest and juice, and cumin. Gradually add olive oil, salt and pepper, mix well.
Put shrimp, asparagus, avocado and grapefruit slices in a bowl with dressing, mix well. Salt and pepper the citrus salad to taste.
Put lettuce leaves in a salad bowl, and put lettuce on them. Serve the citrus salad immediately.
