Ordinary potatoes turn into an original dish, if you show a little imagination. Today I am sharing one of these wonderful recipes - "barbecue" of potatoes in the oven. Potatoes with bacon and onions are baked in foil, which makes it very soft and tasty.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients for baking potatoes with bacon and onions.
  2. I used salted lard, but you can use fresh. Also, lard can be replaced with bacon or boiled-smoked brisket.
  3. Turn on the oven, let it warm up to 200 degrees.
  4. Potato tubers of approximately the same size and shape, peel, wash and dry with paper towels.
  5. Cut the potatoes into slices about 0.5 cm thick.
  6. Transfer the potato slices to a bowl, add salt and black pepper. Stir.
  7. Cut the salo into thin slices about the size of potato slices.
  8. Cut the onion too, but not into rings (as for barbecue), but into squares that look like slices of lard.
  9. Thread potato slices tightly onto wooden skewers, alternating them with slices of lard and onions in a chaotic manner.
  10. Now wrap each "kebab" of potatoes with bacon and onions in foil (shiny side inside).
  11. Transfer the foil-wrapped potatoes to a baking dish or place directly on a baking sheet.
  12. Bake the potatoes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 35 minutes. Depending on the variety of potatoes, the baking time can vary from 25 to 40 minutes.
  13. (Such "kebabs" can be cooked over coals, outdoors, replacing wooden skewers with metal skewers.)
  14. Serve the finished potatoes on skewers with bacon and onions without unwrapping the foil so that the dish does not cool down prematurely. Let each eater unwrap his portion himself and enjoy this original dish.
  15. Enjoy your meal!
