Apples with rice

  1. Boil the milk and, while stirring, pour the washed rice into it. Season with salt, add sugar. While continuing to stir, bring to a boil and cook over very low heat until the rice is tender. Remove from heat, add vanilla seeds.
  2. While the rice is boiling, prepare the apples. Cut them in half, carefully remove the core, sprinkle with lemon juice. Preheat oven to 160 degrees.
  3. Put the milk rice in a greased baking dish, flatten, grease with sour cream on top. Press the apples halfway into the rice with the round side down, place a generous piece of butter in the middle. Sprinkle with lemon zest and place in the oven. Cook for an hour, until the apples are soft and lightly browned.
