  1. Cut the apples, peeled from the peel and seeds, into strips the thickness of the little finger. Remove the seeds from the pumpkin, cut it into large cubes. Pour vinegar over apples and pumpkin, leave for 5-7 hours, stirring frequently from bottom to top. Then put it in a colander, let the vinegar drain. In a saucepan, mix lemon juice with apple juice, sugar and cloves, bring to a boil, cook until cloves float to the surface. Add the pickled apples and pumpkin immediately, cook until the desired degree of fruit softness, 3 to 10 minutes.
