  1. We sort out the barley grains. They should be as on selection: clean, not spoiled. Pour the grains into a frying pan. It is advisable to choose a frying pan with a thick bottom, you can take a cast iron one.
  2. We send the pan over high heat, fry the grains until a pleasant brown color. At the same time, stir the barley continuously with a wooden spatula so that they are fried evenly on all sides and do not burn.
  3. Put the fried grains on a piece of gauze. We lift the ends of the gauze up, tie it with a rope or thread. Thus, a kind of "tea bag" is obtained.
  4. Pour water into a saucepan, send it to the fire. Bring to a boil. Dip a bag of barley grains into boiling water. We reduce the fire to the minimum, cook the tea for 10-15 minutes, depending on the desired strength of the tea.
  5. Then we take out the bag with grains, it can be thrown away. All nutrients have already been boiled into water. Add sugar to tea, mix until it is completely dissolved.
  6. We serve tea hot or warm. You can sweeten such tea not only with sugar, honey, maple syrup and any sweetener are also suitable. Those who do not consume sweets at all can drink barley tea immediately after brewing without adding sweeteners.
