Potato chips are super easy to make at home! A microwave will come to the rescue, which will dry thin slices of potatoes and make them brittle and crispy. We will use only natural products for the preparation of chips. Unlike the purchased ones, the taste of homemade chips is more "potato", natural, and the spices - smoked paprika and a mixture of dried Italian herbs - will also make them very aromatic!

  1. Prepare the required ingredients.
  2. Herbs, spices and spices can be selected to your liking.
  3. Peel, wash and pat the potatoes dry with a paper towel. Cut the potatoes into thin slices of equal thickness. You need to cut potatoes very, very thinly, so I advise you to use not a knife, but some kind of kitchen gadget such as a mandolin, a vegetable peeler or a special wide grater for slices.
  4. Transfer the potato slices to a bowl.
  5. Pour potato slices with clean cold water and let sit for 1 hour.
  6. Then drain the water, fill the potatoes with clean cold water again for another 1 hour. This will wash out the excess potato starch and make the chips crispy.
  7. Place the potato slices in one layer on a clean kitchen towel and dry for 10 minutes.
  8. Then, transfer the potato slices to a clean, dry bowl.
  9. Add salt, a mixture of dried Italian herbs and ground paprika. Pour in vegetable oil.
  10. Toss the potato slices by hand. The oil and spices should be well distributed over the potato slices.
  11. From the baking parchment, cut a circle that is the same diameter as the microwave tray and cover the plate with it.
  12. Put some of the potato slices on a prepared plate in one layer.
  13. Microwave the chips at 800 watts for about 3 minutes.
  14. Then flip the potato slices to the other side.
  15. And cook the chips at 800 watts for another 2 minutes.
  16. Thus, I cooked one batch of chips for 5 minutes. It was with these parameters that it was possible to obtain golden and dry chips, not burnt and not wet - just what you need.
  17. Prepare the rest of the chips in the same way. In total, I got 4 approaches.
  18. From 400 g of potatoes, chips turned out to be slightly less than 100 g.
  19. Microwave potato chips are ready.
