The new variation of egg croutons is a kind of sandwich made from slices of white bread fried in an egg mixture, stuffed with ham, tomatoes and cheese. Bread slices are poured with an omelet mixture and fried all at once, resulting in one large crouton - cut it in half and lay out the filling. This breakfast will make the beginning of even the most ordinary day special!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. The ham can be replaced with smoked meat or sausage.
  2. Cut the cheese into thin slices.
  3. Cut the ham into slices too, but it can be slightly thicker than cheese.
  4. Wash the tomatoes, dry and cut into thin slices.
  5. Break the eggs into a deep bowl. Add salt and pepper.
  6. Shake the eggs with a fork.
  7. Cut the bread slices in half lengthwise. To determine how much bread is needed, immediately place the cut slices of bread close to the bottom of the pan so that there are no voids. If necessary, cut small pieces of bread to close the voids.
  8. My pan is 22 cm in diameter, I needed 5 slices of bread.
  9. Empty the pan and heat with vegetable oil.
  10. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and put it close to the preheated frying pan. Pour the remaining egg mixture on top.
  11. Heat medium-high, cover skillet with lid, and fry a bread omelette until the egg mixture is browned underneath (2-3 minutes).
  12. Then gently flip the bread omelet to the other side.
  13. Cut the omelet in half. Place the ham slices in one half.
  14. On top of the ham - tomato slices.
  15. Then lay out the cheese slices.
  16. Cover the filling with the other half of the omelet. Press down with a spatula.
  17. Reduce heat to low, cover skillet and cook omelette bread sandwich, about 5-7 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  18. Transfer the finished bread omelet with a wide spatula to a plate.
  19. Before serving, cut the bread omelet into portions.
  20. Bon Appetit!
