  1. Rinse the rice and soak it for 15 minutes, then put it in a colander or sieve / or, without rinsing, fry it in ghee in a 2-liter saucepan.
  2. When the grains become transparent, soaked in oil, pour hot water.
  3. Stir to break up the lumps, add salt, bring to a boil and cover tightly.
  4. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes (depending on the type of rice) until the rice has absorbed all the water and is soft and crumbly.
