The recipe for a delicious homemade cake with chocolate and dates! Dates in the form of puree are one of the ingredients of the dough, which in itself is unusual, but gives an amazing result. This chocolate cake with dates is very reminiscent of a brownie - the cake has the same rich chocolate taste, color and aroma, but in structure it is still a real cake, crumbly and tender.

  1. Gather all the ingredients you need to make Chocolate Cake with Dates.
  2. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it has time to become soft.
  3. Place the dates in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Leave for 10 minutes to soften the dates.
  4. Drain the water from the dates, dry the dates themselves with a paper towel or napkin.
  5. Then remove the pits from the dates.
  6. Puree the pulp of the dates. To do this, use any kitchen grinder - meat grinder, submersible or stationary blender, food processor.
  7. Transfer the resulting mashed dates to a bowl. Add soft butter and sugar.
  8. Beat the date puree, butter and sugar with a mixer for about 3 minutes. Beat in an egg.
  9. Beat everything again for 30 seconds.
  10. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in the microwave or in a water bath.
  11. Pour the melted chocolate into the butter-date mixture.
  12. Mix with a mixer at low speed until a homogeneous chocolate mixture is obtained.
  13. Combine flour with baking powder and sift into chocolate mixture.
  14. Stir. You should get a homogeneous dough.
  15. Turn on the oven and preheat to 170 degrees. Line a 20x10 cm rectangular tin with baking parchment so that both the bottom and sides of the tin are covered.
  16. Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared pan.
  17. Bake chocolate cake with dates in the oven at 170 degrees for about 30-35 minutes.
  18. Carefully remove the finished cake from the mold by pulling the edges of the parchment. Cool the cake completely on a wire rack.
  19. Cut the chocolate date cake into pieces and serve as a dessert.
