Chocolate muffins with ginger

Chocolate muffins are made with caramelized ginger, ground almonds and orange zest.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. Butter 12 muffin tins.
  2. Melt dark chocolate in a water bath, remove from the bath, let cool.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, powdered sugar, ground almonds, ginger and orange zest.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites into a fluffy white mass. Gradually add dry ingredients and melted chocolate to this mass, mix with a spatula.
  5. Pour batter into prepared molds, filling halfway. Place in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, bake chocolate muffins until clean wooden stick when pierced. Remove the finished chocolate muffins from the oven, let stand in the molds for 5 minutes, and then remove from the molds and leave the muffins on the wire rack until completely cooled. Sprinkle chocolate muffins with cocoa powder.
