Of course, today the production of couscous is mechanized, but in some places, according to tradition, it continues to be prepared by hand.

Couscous is one of the new cereals along with bulgur, lentils, and chickpeas, which have appeared in our kitchen recently, although, in the kitchens of other countries, recipes with couscous have been known for a long time. This is a wonderful lean dish, very nutritious and delicious. Today we are preparing couscous with vegetables, and after fasting try to cook couscous with chicken - delicious!

  1. Finely chop onions and carrots.
  2. In a frying pan, heat the oil and fry the vegetables, stirring.
  3. Finely chop the peppers and zucchini. Add to the pan the onions and carrots, and fry until all the vegetables are ready.
  4. Add chopped garlic to a skillet and fry for no more than half a minute.
  5. Pour water, salt, and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  6. Add couscous. Stir, remove the pan from the heat, cover and set aside to steam for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve, garnish with greens. As you can see, cooking couscous takes a few minutes.
