Fragrant rice in a frying pan

  1. Pour oil into a saucepan, cauldron, frying pan and heat well. Add rice, reduce heat slightly (medium) and fry the rice, stirring occasionally.
  2. At first, it will turn white and cease to be transparent, then it will turn yellowish-golden.
  3. Add spices and salt, stir for another 2 minutes over the fire. Pour in exactly two glasses of water and let it boil.
  4. Let it simmer WITHOUT THE LID until the rice has absorbed all the water. Reduce to lowest heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat, but do not open the lid yet.
  6. Wait 10 minutes. Open and loosen slightly before serving.
