Ham and cheese croutons

If the usual breakfasts in the form of scrambled eggs or sandwiches are already tired of the order, I propose to combine these two most popular breakfasts into one tasty, hearty and simple dish - croutons with ham and cheese. Bread soaked in egg and milk turns out to be incredibly tasty! And warm ham and stretching cheese are a great addition to croutons!

  1. Prepare foods according to the list.
  2. It is better to use yesterday's loaf - so the bread will not sour and the sandwiches will keep their shape well.
  3. Combine eggs, milk and a pinch of salt in a deep bowl. Whisk everything until smooth.
  4. Cut the bread into slices about 2.5-3 cm thick. Cut each slice in half lengthwise, not cutting to the edge about half a centimeter.
  5. Cut the cheese and ham into thin slices.
  6. Place 1-2 slices of ham and cheese in the cut of each slice of loaf.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Dip each sandwich in the egg and milk mixture for about 5-7 seconds so that the egg mixture is absorbed into the bread.
  9. Turn the sandwich over to the other side and hold for about 5-7 seconds.
  10. Immediately place the sandwich in a skillet preheated with vegetable oil and fry over medium heat for about 2 minutes, until golden brown.
  11. Use a spatula to turn the sandwich over to the other side, cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 1.5-2 minutes.
  12. Transfer the prepared sandwiches to a plate and fry the next one.
  13. Delicious, hearty and very appetizing croutons with ham and hard cheese are ready. Serve immediately while hot.
  14. With fresh herbs and vegetables or with a cup of aromatic coffee - choose how you eat the croutons. But it will be delicious in both cases!
  15. Such a sandwich can be given to a child for school or prepared for the trip for a snack. They will definitely eat it and say thank you!
