A simple way to cook mackerel on charcoal grill.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. To fry mackerel on the grill, defrost the fish in advance (preferably in the refrigerator).
  2. Cut the lemon into circles, about 5 mm thick. For one medium-sized mackerel, you need 3 circles.
  3. If you bought a mackerel with a head and unpeeled, then cut off the head and tail of the fish and gut the mackerel. Then rinse with cold water and pat dry.
  4. Cut the mackerel lengthwise and lay it out like a book.
  5. When the coals in the grill are almost ready for frying, place the mackerel on the grill, lightly salt and place a lemon on its inner surface.
  6. Fix the fish in the grate so that it does not change position. The grate will press the lemons, they will release the juice and soak the mackerel a little. Such a simple marination is enough for this oily fish with a bright taste.
  7. Fry the mackerel on the grill until fully cooked, periodically turning the grate.
  8. Depending on the size (thickness of the fish) and the design of the grill, the cooking time of mackerel on the coals may vary, but be guided by 15 minutes.
  9. Enjoy your meal!
