Masala is a mixture of spices.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. Prepare spices: grind in a mortar or coffee grinder.
  2. 2. Boil water, add all spices except cinnamon, add ginger, and boil for a couple of minutes.
  3. 3. Add tea, and boil for 1 minute more. Turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and let it brew for 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4. Add cinnamon (we add it at the end because cinnamon does not like a long boil).
  5. 5. Turn on the fire again. Pour in milk, bring almost to a boil, but do not boil! Strain the tea.
  6. 6. Sweeten, serve hot!
