Mashed potatoes with carrots

The original version of the familiar and so many favorite dish - mashed potatoes with carrots. The addition of carrots provides the mashed potatoes with not only a delicate sweetish taste, but also a pleasant bright color. Great budget side dish or nutritious meal in its own right!

  1. Peel and wash potatoes and carrots. Cut the potatoes into small slices and the carrots into thin quarters.
  2. Send vegetables to a saucepan, pour about 1-2 liters of water, put on high heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to low, season with salt, cover and cook vegetables for about 15-20 minutes, until soft.
  3. If you want to get the most homogeneous puree, then boil the carrots a little longer. To do this, first put the carrots in a saucepan, boil them for about 10 minutes, and then add the potatoes and cook everything together until the potatoes are soft.
  4. Remove the saucepan of boiled vegetables from the heat and drain the water completely.
  5. Add butter and mash vegetables using a potato grinder.
  6. Pour in milk, add ground pepper and mash the vegetables again with a potato grinder until smooth.
  7. Remove the sample and, if necessary, season with additional salt and pepper.
  8. Delicate mashed potatoes with carrots are ready.
