A small sandwich with herring as an appetizer, because in the Scandinavian countries with the herring is the main food, it will be relevant for any menu, both on holidays and on weekdays. In Norway, herring is fried, boiled, steamed, pickled and served with different sauces. We offer light-salted herring for sandwiches.

  1. Snack. Grate the zest on a fine grater. Cut the onion into very small cubes. Heat oil in a saucepan and add onion. Cook for 5 minutes. until soft.
  2. Add cranberries, honey, juice and zest. Cover, bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Cool it down.
  3. Cut the Norwegian herring fillets into small pieces. Place in glasses and top with cranberry sauce.
  4. Canapes. Grate radishes, add sour cream and horseradish, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cut the apple into 4 pieces, cut into thin slices and drizzle with lemon juice. Cut the herring fillet into slices.
  6. Spread the radish and sour cream mixture on the bread. Put apples, on them - a piece of herring and a sprig of dill.
