Surprise the family with a quirky meal of familiar ingredients with an Asian-themed chicken and onion omelet. The highlight of this omelet is the cooking method. Instead of the usual frying, chicken and onions are stewed in soy sauce, which allows them to give them a spicy taste and juiciness in a matter of minutes. A great option for a hearty breakfast or a quick snack. Try it!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel and cut onions into thin half rings.
  2. Cut the chicken into medium-sized cubes.
  3. Finely chop the green onion.
  4. Break the eggs into a separate container and beat lightly with a fork to mix the whites and yolks.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add soy sauce and bring to a boil. Add the onions and sugar to the skillet. While stirring, cook the onion for 3-4 minutes, until tender.
  6. Then add the chicken fillet pieces to the pan. Cook the fillet for 4-5 minutes, until it first turns white on all sides, and then turns a golden hue, soaked in the sauce.
  7. Pour the beaten eggs into the skillet. Place a lid on the skillet and reduce heat slightly. Cook the chicken and onion omelet for another 4-5 minutes, until the egg mass is cooked.
  8. Place the omelet on a plate and sprinkle with green onions. If there is some soy sauce left in the pan, you do not need to add it to the plate. The part of the sauce that has soaked into the omelet during the cooking process is enough.
  9. An omelet with chicken, onions and soy sauce is ready.
  10. Bon Appetit!
