Delicious orange cake with almonds. Intense orange aroma and rich taste.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla pulp for 5-8 minutes until the mass triples in size. Add lemon zest while beating.
  2. Melt butter and cool slightly.
  3. Mix flour with baking powder, salt and ground almonds. Pour this mixture into the egg mixture in several doses, mix gently.
  4. Add melted butter, mix gently but thoroughly until smooth.
  5. Pour the mass into a mold and bake a cake with almonds at 180C. By the time, see for yourself, I baked 50 minutes. Check readiness with a toothpick. Baking time also depends on the form in which you bake.
  6. Remove the zest from the oranges and cut into thin strips. Squeeze juice from oranges.
  7. When the cake is almost ready, you can cook the syrup. Pour juice into a small saucepan, add sugar and zest. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, cook for 5 minutes, turn off.
  8. Drizzle the still hot cake with syrup and sprinkle with zest. I made a lot of holes in it with a toothpick and poured the syrup right in the mold. Sugar took 5 tbsp. l.
  9. There is a lot of syrup, but the cake absorbs everything, you can safely pour it all in!
  10. The color of the orange-almond cake is so dark because I used muscovado instead of regular sugar, which also added richness in taste.
  11. And in the end, the soaked orange cake should be allowed to stand for some time so that it is well saturated with the aroma of the orange.
