Zebra pies captivate with their original appearance, rather internal than external.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  2. Combine eggs and sugar in a deep bowl and mix with a whisk.
  3. Add sour cream and melted (but not hot) butter. Mix everything with a whisk.
  4. Sift the flour with salt, baking powder and soda into the sour cream-egg mixture. Stir with a whisk to remove lumps.
  5. The dough turned out to be fluid, similar in texture to dough for pancakes.
  6. Divide the dough equally into two bowls.
  7. Add cocoa powder to one part of the dough. Stir.
  8. Mix the second part of the dough with coconut flakes.
  9. The dough has become thicker, so pour 25 ml of milk into both bowls. Stir.
  10. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180°C.
  11. Line a detachable baking dish (I have a diameter of 19 cm) with parchment or grease with butter.
  12. In the center of the mold, alternating colors, pour 1-2 tablespoons of dark and light dough. It is quite possible to entrust this procedure to children - they will be very interested.
  13. After laying out all the dough, lightly tap the form on the table so that there are no voids.
  14. Bake Coconut Zebra Pie at 180°C for 30 minutes.
  15. Pierce the top of the cake with a wooden stick. If the stick remains dry, it's time to take the cake out of the oven.
  16. Take the cake out of the mold and place on a platter.
  17. Light, subtle aroma of coconut, rich chocolate taste, bright appearance and at the same time ease of preparation - excellent!
