Pilaf with mushrooms

Pilaf with mushrooms is perfect for people who are fasting or do not eat meat. Mushrooms and spices, you can take those that you like the most, you can skip hot peppers if you do not eat spicy ones.

  1. Wash the carrots, peel and cut into thin strips. Peel the onion and cut into cubes. In a skillet with a thick bottom or cauldron, where you will cook pilaf with mushrooms, heat the vegetable oil and fry the vegetables until light golden brown, about 7 minutes.
  2. Add mushrooms, peeled and chopped to fried vegetables. Fry everything together for 15 minutes, season with pepper and salt to taste. Add cumin seeds, with them the pilaf with bends will be very tasty.
  3. In a large bowl, rinse the white and wild rice together with cold water. If you want the wild rice to be softer in the finished pilaf, soak it in boiling water for 20 minutes.
  4. Put the rice on the vegetables with mushrooms and flatten. Pour in about 300 g. boiling water, salt to taste. For spice, add a pod of red pepper to taste. Close the mushroom pilaf tightly so that the steam does not escape and cook over medium heat for 25 minutes.
  5. Let the prepared pilaf with mushrooms rest. Remove the pan from the stove, cover with a towel and let stand for 5 minutes. Then stir, place on a large plate or in portions, sprinkle with herbs as desired and serve.
