It is not always possible to fry barbecue on the grill, but since so many people love this dish, an alternative has also appeared. Pork skewers with vegetables can be deliciously cooked in the oven in a glass jar. For the aroma of a fire, add slightly charred branches of fruit trees. And yes, you don’t need to twist the skewers when baking.)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. Cut some branches from fruit trees (I used cherry trees).
  3. Wash and dry the pork meat (neck or hip part).
  4. For baking, you will also need a 3 liter glass jar and wooden skewers.
  5. Cut the meat into equal cubes with a side of 2-3 cm.
  6. Cut the lemon into thin slices, peeled onions into rings.
  7. Place pork, lemon, onion in a bowl, add spices for barbecue, salt and black pepper. Stir, pour in mineral water and mix again.
  8. Leave the meat to marinate for 1 hour in a cold place.
  9. Cut the tomatoes into thin circles.
  10. Remove the leaves from the cherry branches, wash the branches thoroughly and dry.
  11. Gently set fire and char the twigs over the fire so that smoke and a pleasant aroma of a fire appear.
  12. Then put out the fire and lower the twigs to the bottom of the jar so that they rise a little inside the container.
  13. On wooden skewers, string meat, onions and tomatoes in turn. I got 4 skewers.
  14. Place the skewers in the jar, cut off the excess height of the skewers, and seal the jar tightly with several layers of foil.
  15. Put the jar in a cold oven and turn on the heat to 200 degrees.
  16. After 1.5 hours, turn off the oven and open the door for 15 minutes so that the temperature does not drop too sharply and the jar does not burst.
  17. Carefully remove the foil lid and remove the meat and vegetable skewers to a plate.
  18. Meat cooked in a jar in the oven is tender, juicy, with a light aroma of a fire. Vegetables are also very tasty: both elastic onions and juicy soft tomatoes.
  19. Pork skewers in the oven, baked in a jar, will not completely replace the meat cooked on the grill, but you will definitely succeed in feeding your family deliciously!
  20. Enjoy your meal!
