Potato and herring salad

A very simple but delicious salad of potatoes and smoked herring, with pickled onions and pickles. Even a beginner in cooking can cook potato salad with herring.

Ingredients

• Potatoes - 2 pcs. (medium size)
• Smoked herring - 1 pc.
• Red onion - 1 pc. (small onion)
• Lemon juice - 1 tbsp l.
• Olive oil - 3 tbsp. l.
• Soy sauce - 2 tbsp l.
• Salt to taste
• Ground black pepper - to taste
• Pickled cucumber - 1 pc.
• Decorating herbs (dill or parsley)

Directions

1. Boil the potatoes in a peel.
2. Disassemble the herring, remove all seeds and chop the flesh into small cubes.
3. Chop the onion finely.
4. In a small deep bowl, combine the lemon juice and soy sauce. Pour the onion there, leave for 10 minutes.
5. Chop the boiled potatoes into small cubes, add the pickled onion and herring to the potatoes.
6. Season the salad of potatoes, herring and onions with oil, salt and pepper to taste, mix well.
7. Put the potato salad with herring in a heap on a plate, garnish with pickles * and herbs.
8. The cucumber in this recipe is not just a decoration, but an obligatory ingredient that goes well with potatoes and herring.
