Potato gratin "Janson's Temptation"

Janson's Temptation potato gratin is one of the most famous Swedish dishes. It is usually served as a side dish, but you can prepare this dish on its own.

Ingredients

• Potatoes - 700 g
• Butter - 25 g
• Onions - 200 g
• Sprats - 125 g (1 can)
• Salt to taste
• Pepper to taste
• Fat cream - 300 ml
• Milk - 300 ml
• Bread crumbs - 2 tbsp. l
• Vegetable oil - for greasing the baking sheet

Directions

1. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin cubes. Put on a baking sheet, greased with a drop of oil, and bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
2. Melt the butter and fry the thinly sliced ​​onion until soft (not very golden brown).
3. Mix potatoes with onions.
4. Take a baking dish, put half of the mixture on the bottom, put sprats on top at an equal distance, salt, pepper and pour half of the cream and milk.
5. Put the leftover potatoes with onions, drizzle a little with oil from the sprat, season with salt, pepper and pour the rest of the cream and milk, sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
6. Bake the Janson Temptation potato gratin for about 40 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
