An unusual recipe for delicious crunchy cakes, the dough for which is prepared from a minimal set of products. Cakes are fried in a pan. It is very easy to make "pockets" in ready-made tortillas, drive in eggs and prepare a full breakfast or snack. Such cakes with scrambled eggs look very interesting!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. The filling for the flatbreads can be changed to your liking - grated cheese or sausage is fine.
  2. Sift flour into a bowl, add salt and pour in water.
  3. We knead the elastic dough with our hands and roll it into a ball.
  4. We wrap the dough with cling film or put it in a bag and send it to the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
  5. Form a "sausage" from the chilled dough.
  6. Cut the "sausage" with a knife into about 5 equal parts.
  7. Roll one part of the dough with a rolling pin into a thin oblong flat cake about 6-7 cm wide.
  8. Lubricate half of the longitudinal surface of the dough strip with vegetable oil, leaving the edges dry (about 1 cm). Fold the dough in half lengthwise, covering so that the oiled part is inside.
  9. We roll the resulting strip of dough in the form of a rose.
  10. We roll the resulting dough blank with a rolling pin into a very thin flat cake. The vegetable oil with which the dough was first lubricated will prevent it from sticking together, and the cake will turn out to be flaky.
  11. In the same way, we form the rest of the cake blanks.
  12. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. We spread the tortilla in a pan and fry over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  13. If the diameter of the pan allows, you can fry several cakes at once.
  14. Then remove the pan from the stove and very carefully pry the middle of the cake with a fork. This is very easy to do, since it has a layered structure.
  15. We very carefully drive the egg into the resulting "pocket" and again transfer the pan to the stove. Reduce heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. We fry until the desired degree of readiness of the yolk (2-3 minutes was enough for me).
  16. Transfer the finished cake to a plate and proceed to frying the next one.
  17. The flatbread crunches beautifully; in the crack it has an appetizing layered structure. Such cakes are able to satisfy a slight hunger between meals.
  18. Bon Appetit!
