Rabbit stewed with mushrooms

You will definitely like this stewed rabbit recipe for its simplicity and rich taste. The recipe uses fresh thyme, known in Ukraine as thyme; today it is easy to find on the shelves of greens in large supermarkets, but you can safely replace freshly dried.

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion. Wash mushrooms and cut them into slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
  2. In a thick-walled pan that can be placed in the oven, melt half the butter and fry the rabbit pieces until golden. Take them out of the pan and set them aside.
  3. Melt the remaining oil in the same pan and fry the chopped onion and crushed garlic for 3 minutes, add the mushrooms. Cook together for 10 minutes, then put back the rabbit pieces.
  4. Add canned tomatoes, broth, thyme, salt, pepper, and cover. Put in a preheated oven to 180 degrees and cook for 1 hour.
  5. It tastes perfect with boiled slices of potatoes.
