Original, beautiful and very simple Serbian bread, it is also called elephant's ear.

Ingredients

  1. To prepare the dough, add sugar, yeast and 1 tbsp to warm milk. flour. Stir and put in a warm place for 15-20 minutes.
  2. In the risen dough gradually! add flour and knead the dough. You should get a soft elastic dough that does not stick to your hands.
  3. Do not rush to add all the flour at once, as you may need a little more or less than indicated in the ingredients.
  4. Roll out the dough into a layer and cut out 12-15 circles with a diameter of 10-11 cm.
  5. Melt butter. Grease a baking dish with melted butter.
  6. Dip each circle of dough on all sides in oil.
  7. Then put all the cakes in a mold with an overlap in a circle. The diameter of my mold is 26 cm.
  8. It is better to choose a whole baking dish, and not a detachable one, since butter can flow out of a detachable one.
  9. Cover the form with cakes with cling film and put in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  10. Then brush the bread with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.
  11. Bake bread in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
